The Roosevelt Dash is a productivity trick discussed by professor and author Cal Newport in his book Deep Work.
It's a way to use concentrated bursts of time to tackle projects.
The basic steps:
- Estimate how long it will take you to do an involving, high-priority task normally.
- Significantly reduce the amount of time you'll give yourself to get it done.
- Announce the new deadline to someone else and/or set a timer and start working without distractions. Focus with intensity.
Most work will fill up whatever amount of time you give it. This is a way to concentrate your focus and energy more efficiently.
